Governance and Leadership

lasting change happens when communities are informed

Governance and Leadership

Our organization operates under a strong and transparent governance structure that ensures strategic oversight, accountability, and effective management. At the helm is a Board of Directors composed of seven members who bring diverse expertise in governance, finance, human rights, and community development. The Board provides overall direction, policy guidance, and fiduciary oversight to ensure the organization remains mission-focused and compliant with all legal and ethical standards.

The day-to-day operations are managed by a dedicated leadership team, headed by an Executive Director, who provides strategic and operational leadership. Supporting the Executive Director are key staff members including a Programs Manager, who oversees program implementation and impact; a Finance Manager, responsible for financial planning and accountability; an Administrator, who manages internal operations and compliance; and three Project Officers, who coordinate field activities and work closely with Volunteers to reach the target audience.

This integrated structure ensures clear roles, shared accountability, and effective coordination, enabling the organization to deliver on its mission while remaining transparent and responsive to its stakeholders.

Governance and Leadership

Grassroots’ Voices is a community-based organization (CBO) operating in Kwale County, Kenya. The organization was founded in 2023 to respond to the growing community concerns around weak public participation, limited access to information, environmental degradation, climate impacts, and shrinking livelihood opportunities, particularly in areas affected by extractive activities and socio-economic marginalization.
